IAB Finland’s Change Agent prize was awarded for the first time at IAB’s 20th Anniversary Seminar on 27 September. The prize for Jukka Sundquist of Nordic Morning Finland is a testament to his excellent work and significant contribution to the development of the Finnish digital marketing industry.
IAB Finland was founded 20 years ago at a time when the impact of the internet on marketing gave its first signals. In the jubilee seminar, IAB Finland awarded Jukka Sundquist, Managing Director of Nordic Morning Finland. The award for Sundquist is a historic one, since the Change Agent prize was granted for the first time. Candidates were sought after by an open inquiry. The total number of nominees was 20, and among those granted the highest number of votes, IAB Finland’s board of directors voted the winner. Sundquist got a clear majority of votes.
“For over a decade, Jukka has been closely involved in developing the digital industry and has worked as an active change agent. In his work, he is goal-oriented and determined and also a well-respected team player,” says IAB Finland’s Executive Director Birgitta Takala. Sundquist has more than 10 years of experience in working as a change agent in digital industry. He has a thorough insight of, for example, programmatic buying and data-driven content.
“Along the way I have grown up together with the company as well as the entire industry. IAB Finland has provided valuable input as an educator and a contributor to digital marketing. Executive Director Birgitta Takala has done a remarkable job,” Sundquist acknowledges.
Jukka Sundquist is heading the agency Nordic Morning Finnish operations, that was launched on September 18th. He has been deeply involved in the development of Nordic Morning´s Digital Growth Engine concept in response to the marketing challenges of today. It is both an offering and a systematic approach for generating digital growth and superior customer experience.
Sundquist regards IAB Finland primarily as a change agents’ community which provides the latest information in the field. Over the years, the association has grown into a community that supports the entire sector, and also an important discussion forum for different perspectives.
“Today, there’s no use talking about digitization, because everything is digital already. However, we are only at the beginning of development, and the pace of change only accelerates. The organizations should focus on the opportunities that arise with the new technology. To make the most of it, it is necessary that the organization and technology go through their development in line with each other, and that is a big challenge. We applied lean methodology as early as 20 years ago. You have to try and sometimes fail. If that happens, you need to be quick to change direction”, Sundquist sums up.
